Our LOVE Story

We met our Junior year of high school....WE WERE NOT HIGH SCHOOL SWEETHEARTS...
would like to tell everyone that we were, but sadly NO. After high school all of our friends went their separate ways and we were stuck to get to know each other better. We became best of friends...sometimes it was like we were siblings. We set each other up on dates and complained about bad ones. Morgan became a fixture at my house. A couple of years after we graduated Morgan started to act..well..he started acting EXTRA nice to me. Surprising me at work with treats, taking me to the movies, dinner and PAYING. Well I freaked out! My Mom said to me one night, "Brittney please give him a chance". I was not willing to risk our friendship. So a couple of months later I started to pray that I would feel contentment in my life and to know what the next step would be in my life. The NEXT day...Morgan looked completely different to me. I wasn't scared anymore to date him. Well....we started dating and it was AWESOME! We both thought it would be such a shock to everyone that we were dating. But they all acted like, Well it's about time! And that was it...Started dating in October, Engaged in March, Married August 5, 2004.
And we will live happily ever after!

Why Adoption is right for us...

Morgan and I wanted to start our family early in our marriage. We were unsuccessful for a year and tried many fertility treatments for 2 (very long) years. Not being able to start your family on your own time is heart-breaking. Adoption was never the plan for us. We had to turn this over to the Lord. After many prayers we know that we were led to adoption. We were given hope and regained faith that we would eventually become parents. We applied for adoption through LDS Family Services, which is an amazing service and blessing for Birth Mom's and their families.

Morgan talks about Brittney...

My wife is my best friend and has been there for me for a very long time. After really getting to know her, I realized that I loved her and I haven't stopped since. When I think of her, I think of a woman who can win anyone over with her personality and who has a huge amount of creativity. She is so passionate about everything she does and just does it so well. She cares so much for others and still has so much to give to her family at the end of the day. I have seen the whole adoption process wear on her, but she is so strong that I know she will never give up hope. Her attitude on life and love for others will make her the best mother anyone could ever have. I couldn't think of anyone better to take care of a family, because she has always taken care of me.

Brittney talks about Morgan...

My honey is an Amazing husband! He is respectful, kind, funny and has a killer smile! Morgan and I can be together with nothing to do and crack each other up over nothing. I admire Morg for his work ethic. He is super talented and puts 100% in everything that he does. Our nieces love playing with him and talking him into doing crazy things...he is Uncle Morgie!
My husband balances me out! I can get stressed out or feel overwhelmed and he calms me down...Or does anything I need him to do until I calm down. I truly married my Best Friend and I know he will be an Awesome Dad!!

Morgan's Family

I am the oldest of 3 boys. I have two brothers, Tyler who is married to Sara and another brother Colby. Tyler has two daughters Rorie and Peighton. My Mom is Cindy and My Dad James is re-married to Cristina who has a 12 year old son Diego.

Brittney's Family...

I am the oldest of 3 kids. I have a brother Zac who is married to Heather and a sister Megan who is married to Levi. They are twins and are 2 years and 5 months younger than me. My parents Cory and Holly were high school sweethearts and have been married for 30 years.

This is just some of my extended family at Christmas last year!

What is our home like??

Clean! I would not have it any other way. Our home is filled with pictures of Vacations, Family and Friends. We live right across from a neighborhood park and have a bike trail that is right behind our house that runs through the whole valley.

This was the first project we did when we moved into our house. Our office is where we spend a lot of time. Either Morgan doing homework or I am making something!

What you would find us doing on the weekend??

We live for our weekends. During the summer we like to go to Bear Lake where Morgan's family has a cabin. Or during the colder months we head south to St. George, Utah where it is warmer and my Grandparents live. We like to do projects around our house, going to the movies, taking the dogs to the park, riding our bikes, playing games with friends or family.

This was at our last apartment with some of Brittney's cousins...playing some rock band!

Morgan describes himself...

I would definitely call myself the most laid back person you will ever meet. Unless...I am playing board/card games. I can be a little competitive. In addition to loving my wife, I love to bike, hike, and just lay around and watch movies. I am a artistic person and like to create things. I have really liked owning our own home and doing the projects that come with it.

I built this globe for a final project at school.
It was seen at a New Years Eve event in Salt Lake City.

Brittney describes herself...

I think I am a creative person. I like to laugh and make people laugh. I feel like I wear my heart on my sleeve...What you see is what you get. I love my family and want them to always be happy. I like to make things and LOVE projects! Last year after our second failed placement I needed a project so I made my Christmas tree ornaments out of paper. It turned out so stinkin cute!

What we wish for our children...

After Morgan and I were first married we started to plan things.
We talked about one day waking our kids up with a surprise vacation.
We want our kids to travel and to see new places. We want to introduce them to new cultures and new environments.
Education is VERY important to both of us and we will make sure our children get every opportunity. We want our kids to love people no matter what! We were raised that way and will pass that on to our children.

How we feel about Open Adoption....

When we were first introduced to Adoption we had no idea what "Open Adoption" was. After hearing the stories from Adoptive couple's and birth mom's, our hearts were changed. We knew not only did we want an open adoption, we knew that it was perfect for us. We want a healthy, loving relationship with all involved. We look forward to lots of letters, pictures, phone calls and meetings.
THANK YOU for taking the time to get to this point! Please keep us in your thoughts and prayers. We pray every day for birth mom's. We pray that our birth mom will find us.
We can't imagine what you must be going through. But we are so grateful for you and for considering adoption. There are so many deserving families that you can be blessed
through the miracle of ADOPTION.
